The % of plastic waste wasted is incredibly high. we are not talking about mismanaged plastic waste, we are talking about 40+% of plastic that are daily buried in landfields around the world. Can we deal with them in a different way?
A SEA OF PLASTIC
A big chung of all the mismanaged plastic around the world is all the plastic that ends up in the sea. fishing nets and apparel, lost or dumped and a miscellanea of plastic waste ends up floating on the sea. It's estimated that between 75MT -199MT are nowadays in our oceans. But every year we add another 12MT. Ecologically is a disaster but is also a waste of potential energy.

Why this is happening?
Ther are a lot of motives why all those plastics are buried. The mixture of different plastics, composites, rare compounds... makes recycling plastics a complete nightmare and even when there is a will the task is herculean, energy and money-wise.
